Arran Hartley

Music Technician

About

Arran started drumming at the age of thirteen, having realised music was much “cooler” than his first great love (History!). After spending the first several years playing in school Concert Bands, he made the move to rock and pop groups. Over a decade later and he has been lucky to play hundreds of shows nationally and internationally, from toilet circuit clubs to some of Europe’s biggest festivals. Alongside his main project, Portsmouth-based Ska band Offbeat Offensive, Arran also plays in various funk, jazz and rock outfits, as well as depping for local (and not so local) function bands.

Arran plays guitar and has recently started to learn the Sax, reasoning that if you’re rubbish at one instrument, you may as well be rubbish at three.

After getting tired of all the roundabouts in his hometown of Milton Keynes, Arran decided to study Music performance at the University of Chichester, graduating with a First Class BMus (Hons) in 2014. During this time he discovered an interest for live sound, backline maintenance and instrument repair, which led to joining the Music Department as evening/weekend Technician in early 2015.
