About

Gemma qualified as a Social Worker in 2001 and continued her professional pathway obtaining a Degree in Social Work, Practice Educator qualifications and Master’s in Advanced Professional Practice.

Gemma has extensive experience in Local Authority children’s services; specifically, children in need, safeguarding, court proceedings, looked after children and adoption and fostering.

Gemma has many years’ experience as an Independent Practice Educator supporting students throughout their practice placements in both adults and children’s services.

Gemma’s academic and research interests relate to the motivations of student social workers, promoting reflective practice and developing resilience, as well as Practice Education.
