About

Destined for a vocal career following Choirboy of the Year success, Jon’s forty plus roles include Verdi, Puccini, Mozart, Donizetti and Gilbert & Sullivan operas around Europe. Jon entered the Guildhall School of Music as a talented trumpeter, before focussing on singing studies in Italy, Zurich and London.

As a concert specialist Jon has a repertoire of over 500 songs and 70 oratorios. His 2015/16 Dichterliebe in Germany and the UK was followed by a ‘thrilling Schubert’s Winterreise’ in 2016/17, praised by critics as ‘an emotional rollercoaster’. Recent solo highlights have included a number of Bach St John and St Matthew Passion Evangelist performances, his 40th Messiah and a ‘sensitive and moving’ Britten St Nicholas. Future international engagements include returning to Italy, Germany and Romania.

Described by Classic FM as ‘one impressive tenor’ with ‘something special in his beautiful voice’, Jon has performed for the Royal Family, in most major UK concert halls and world famous venues in over twenty different countries. Major film soundtracks have included working with Ewan McGregor and Richard E Grant. Numerous live broadcasts, solo recordings and lead film roles complete his catalogue.

Jon is studying for his doctorate and has an MA in Music Performance from the University of Chichester where he has lectured in Voice, Italian, Opera & Operetta and Music Performance since 2009. He is a former Voice and Choral director at the London College of Music and is recently appointed Conductor of HLO. Jon’s conducting and directing includes numerous operas, musical theatre, choral and orchestral works with groups such WSO and the North London Philharmonic.
