Paula O’Sullivan
Associate Lecturer – Vocal Tutor
About
Born in Glasgow, Paula studied for her BA (Mus Perf) at the RSAMD (now RCS), followed by Postgraduate Diplomas specialising in Lieder/Oratorio and Opera Studies. Her professional career began as a performer; starting off as a chorister then soloist at Glyndebourne and Scottish Opera, then mainly as a soloist with companies all over the UK, with the occasional foray into Europe. In addition to Opera and Classical music, ongoing personal interest led to further development of skills in order to perform Musical Theatre, Jazz and Pop.
Paula teaches a variety of genres of singing, both privately and in academic settings, and combines with Choir Directing and performing to build a busy musical life. Paula is passionate about the singing actor/performer, and is an enthusiastic continuing student of the voice and vocal pedagogy, in order to support an individual-centred approach to vocal teaching.
Extra-curricular interests include Pilates and Martial Arts – Paula is a 2nd Dan Karate Black Belt.
