Vince Field

Vince Field has had creative blood flowing through his body since he was a child, and so at the age of sixteen “ran away to join the theatre” where expanding his knowledge in all aspects of the technical    (dark) side and his passion grew. Developing his skills working in theatres and an A/V company throughout the UK, Europe and America.

He then joined Chichester University in its Dance Department as their technician, later moving Department to become Theatre Technical Manager for the Performing Arts, this includes the general management of its theatre The Showroom, ensuring a safe environment where creativity can flourish: liaising with professional touring companies and, so, helping the venue to  gain its great reputation on the touring circuit; working closely with students and artists , advising , supporting –  happy to share his passion and knowledge to create their visions.

Vince has also gained a solid reputation as a lighting designer for contemporary dance and theatre.  He is lighting designer and technical advisor for the nationally acclaimed The Paper Birds;  lighting designer and tour manager for  Lila Dance; tour technician for EDge  ( London Contemporary Dance School ) .

Outside of professional interests he likes to travel, reads, kayaks, spends his summers surfing in Cornwall. He is also known as Professor Smellysocks ……a very silly magician for kids parties!!!
