Chichester moves into elite rankings table of best UK universities
- University of Chichester ranked among UK’s elite following successful year
- Tables of Tables 2022 celebrates universities who score highly in top domestic rankings
- List compiled by Times Higher Education place Chichester in 27th position
An elite rankings table of the 30-best higher education institutions in the UK has featured the University of Chichester.
The celebrated Table of Tables 2022 rates universities on their performances of the last year and included Chichester on the list alongside Oxford, Cambridge, and St Andrews, among others.
The rankings, compiled by the Times Higher Education, are based on the combined results of the UK’s three main domestic tables: the Complete University Guide, Guardian University Guide, and Times and Sunday Times’ Good University Guide.
Chichester moves into 27th position, level with the University of Nottingham, following a series of successes in 2021, including its 25-place the National Students Survey.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Jane Longmore said: “These rankings are recognition of the University’s remarkable success in building the confidence, resilience, and aspirations of our students. It is also a huge boost for our University and wider community – Chichester is now in a different league and rightly sits among the leaders of the UK higher education landscape.”
The Table of Tables league position caps a triumphant 12-months for the University, which has seen applications rise by 25 per cent on last year. It was also ranked as the 21st-best institution by the Guardian University Guide 2022, and rated in the top 50 by the Times and Sunday Times’ Good University Guide.
Students’ Union President Gemma Hopwood said: “These results are a powerful representation of a truly special university. Being part of the journey that we are embarking on is extremely special, and we will continue to build on our successes from here.”
