
Dr Kelvin Anoh
Senior Lecturer in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Computing
About
Dr Kelvin Anoh is a Senior Lecturer in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Computing at the University of Chichester, United Kingdom, where he also serves as the Programme Leader of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
He is the Head of the Centre for Future Technologies (CFT), one of the leading Research Centres at the University of Chichester, UK. The CFT Research Centre is the umbrella for various research groups, including the Smart Energy Infrastructure Research Group, the Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Research Group, the Communication and Applied Electromagnetics Research Group, the Computing Research Group and the Applied Mathematics Research Group.
Dr Anoh also coordinates students’ external engagements with professional organisations such as the Institution of Engineering Technology (IET) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
He is a Senior Member of the IEEE and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in the United Kingdom.
Dr Anoh is the founder and Branch Counsellor of the IEEE Student Branch, University of Chichester.
He is also the General Chair and founder of the International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Sustainable Cities (AI-Scities).
He sits on several boards at the University, including the Research Ethics Committee, Research Degree Group, Research Excellence Framework Project Team (REFPT) and Programme Leadership Boards. He is the co-chair of the IEEE Skillup Hub, Region 8.
Dr Anoh received a PhD in Communications Engineering from the University of Bradford, UK, where he also taught actively in Engineering and Mathematics subjects, including Engineering System Modelling, Computer Modelling Techniques, Transmission Principles, Digital Communications, Engineering Computations, Software Programming, and Computer-Aided Design.
He enjoys designing and modelling intelligent, complex and sustainable engineering systems.
He teaches, researches and publishes in Intelligent and Smart Infrastructure, including Smart Energy Cities, Internet of Things (IoT), Renewable Energy, Power Systems and Electrical Machines, Power Electronics, Analogue and Digital Electronics, HDL and FPGA, Embedded Systems and Communications Engineering.
Dr Anoh also teaches Engineering Systems modelling, combining his expertise in Software Programming, Mathematical Modelling, and Computer-Aided Design to develop optimised and sustainable engineering systems.
His interest is in enabling Smart and Sustainable Infrastructure by combining Electrical and Electronic Engineering with emerging technologies such as Engineering Optimisation, Mathematical Modelling, Internet of Things, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.
He has worked on a variety of projects across a range of scales, totalling over £33 million locally and internationally, with measurable impact.
He was an Early Career Research Committee Member of the £9m EPSRC-funded Supergen Energy Network Hub UK from 2019.
Dr Anoh collaborates widely with universities, businesses, industries, governments, charity organisations, private institutions and research organisations in his research and teaching activities.
He is always open to receiving collaboration and research applications in Intelligent and Smart Infrastructure and New Mathematical Models (e.g., Smart Energy Cities, Renewable Energy, Electronic Engineering, Internet of Things, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and Communications Engineering).

Research Interests
Dr Anoh is interested in the design, modelling, construction, implementation, optimisation, prototyping and simulation of intelligent and smart infrastructure.
He welcomes research candidates and collaborators interested in combining electrical, electronics, mathematics, CAD, software programming, hardware design and construction to enable realistic engineering solutions to real-world problems.
His interest is in enabling Intelligent, Smart and Sustainable Infrastructure by combining Electrical and Electronic Engineering with mathematics, software programming, Internet of Things, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.
Specific themes include, but not limited to, Smart Cities, Renewable Energy, Communications Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Embedded Systems, Sensing Technologies, Embedded Machine Learning, FPGA and Internet of Things.
