Jane Livesey

Position: Development Manager - East Asia-Pacific

Jane is part of a small team that supports the growth of cricket in East Asia and the Pacific for the International Cricket Council. Since joining the team in 2013 as the first female to be appointed to a cricket specific role for the ICC’s Global Development Program, Jane has progressed to become the Development Manager for the region. She has also worked in the public service, the private sector and as a volunteer in Australia and overseas.

Jane is passionate about women’s cricket and has previously worked in roles to promote and grow women’s cricket in Indonesia and Australia. She has also worked in the Social Inclusion Unit of the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet focusing on changes to the Racial Discrimination Act. Jane volunteered at Reconciliation Australia and the Garma Policy and Cultural Festival which fuelled her commitment to ensuring Indigenous Australians close the gap with other Australians.

Jane enjoys working closely with indigenous people in country in the EAP region. She has built strong and trusting relationships throughout the EAP region and Australian cricket to help increase the profile of and support for cricket in the region.

In 2016, Jane led the design and delivery of the first ever Pacific Women’s Sports Leadership Program. Inspired by her experience as a participant at WSLA in 2014, Jane recognized the need for the same opportunity for Pacific women. The Program saw 20 women from the Pacific come together for a week of professional development, networking and learning which many of the participants described as transformational and life changing. The Program will run again in 2018 with support from the Australian Government.

Jane has found career satisfaction in community and people based roles that allow her to work directly with people and assist their development to create future leaders and role models across East Asia and the Pacific. Jane is deeply committed to learning and self-improvement and in fostering that in her staff, colleagues and wider networks.
