This module focuses on the practical application of science and mathematics to develop engineering solutions. You will learn through a problem based engineering philosophy. You will be challenged by a typical engineering problem that requires both theoretical and practical skills to solve, and work in groups of 2-4 to complete the project. You will be assessed through a presentation and a report. You will explore: defining the project philosophy and rationale, health and safety training and PPE distribution, workshop, laboratory and experimentation skills, using workshop and laboratory facilities, testing day of proposed solutions to engineering challenge, testing proposed solutions to engineering challenges, and individual report and team presentation assessments.
