This module builds upon prior experience and skills, introducing you to the specific subject knowledge, understanding and skills that will enable you to become an effective teacher of Modern Foreign Languages. The structure of the module is based on the understanding that theory informs practice and practice informs theory.
You will have the opportunity to learn to analyse pedagogical theories and apply them to the effective teaching of Modern Foreign Languages to learners of all abilities and ages.
You will learn how to promote active, inclusive, progressive and engaging learning experiences and how to best support students’ learning.
You will develop strategies to motivate learners through the use of song, literature, culture and IT, as well as through ensuring optimal challenge.
