Chichester students chosen for national sports teams

Students from the University of Chichester are celebrating after squad announcements revealed they were included in the English Universities Sport (EUS) teams – a significant achievement.

EUS teams are chosen from students across the country and go on to compete in the Home Nations Tournament.

In the 2025/26 Women’s Hockey team, Chichester’s Victoria Spouncer will play in defence and Olivia Parr will play forward.

Meanwhile in the South Men’s Football team, Jack Farrier, Josiah Barker and Sam Pearson have been chosen to play.

Alongside these players, the University’s Football Coaching and Performance Programme Lead Daniel Potter will be head coach for the South Men’s Football team.

He said: “Men’s football at university level is the highest participated sport and the level being played is extremely high, with a number of outstanding players across the country. I’ve been fortunate to have managed and coached the Men’s South team for the past five seasons, as well as being a coach for the Men’s National team.

“This programme offers both the players and the staff of EUS the opportunity to work at a level of excellence, playing against a number of professional teams and also against other nations. I’m pleased to see three Chichester students in the South squad, with the opportunity for all three of them to progress into the national squad too.”

The University’s Men’s Football 1st team are also embarking on their National Cup Campaign as part of the British Universities and College Sports (BUCS) Premier league, competing against the best football universities in the country.
