Strengthen your legal knowledge with law short courses

Short courses for early-career legal professionals will be offered at the University of Chichester this summer. 

The new Introduction to Professional Legal Practice course is an intensive two-day programme exploring client care, professional ethics, business awareness and the realities of working within today’s evolving legal services landscape.  

Participants will develop skills that enhance client relationships, commercial understanding and ethical decision making – and the course blends practical skills, contemporary industry insight and expert-led teaching to support real professional growth. 

The programme is designed with the needs of junior and early-career practitioners in mind, but also supports employers seeking development pathways for staff considering future legal qualifications. 

The first course runs on Saturday 27 June and Sunday 4 July, with more planned in January 2027 and June/July 2027. 

For aspiring solicitors, the SQE 1 Preparation Course provides a focused four-month pathway for LLB graduates in the first Solicitors’ Qualifying Examination. Through practice questions, mock assessments and guidance from experienced practitioners, learners build confidence across all the Functioning Legal Knowledge subjects.  

Flexible delivery options for these programmes are also available, including bespoke in-house courses and consultancy which allow employers to tailor training to organisational needs, strengthening workforce development and supporting future qualification routes. 

All programmes are taught by seasoned legal professionals and academic experts, ensuring a dynamic and engaging learning environment.
