Applications of Psychology in Dance

The module examines the application of psychology in the context of dance. The module is informed by sport psychology (e.g., anxiety, confidence, perfectionism), exercise psychology (e.g. participation motivation, personality and burnout) and skill acquisition (e.g., practice, talent and expertise).

Theoretical perspectives from sport and research findings from several current areas within the dance psychology field will provide you with guidance on how behaviour can be shaped in each of the contexts.
