The aim of this module is to familiarise students with the range of expectation of Design, Industrial and Manufacturing processes. The subjects of study include the evolution of industrial engineering and its future directions, the concepts of modern product design approaches and product life cycles, total productivity and quality management, basic engineering economics, computerised labour standards, human-machine and labour interaction, Health & Safety, ergonomics, materials storage and handling and facilities planning.
