This module introduces you to the ways in which historians have approached the study of the past, and to find out which approaches and themes might interest an individual student studying History at university today.
The module will aim to introduce you to a succession of diverse perspectives and priorities which show how our picture of the past has developed, including political, religious, social and cultural history, and moving into a discussion of gender history, global histories and decolonizations, intellectual and national histories, autobiography and biography, and the advent of the heritage sector.
