History panel explores US politics at CFT
A PANEL of history academics and students from the University of Chichester have examine the most dramatic periods of American politics at the Chichester Festival Theatre.
The Trump Effect seminar was part of a themed series focusing on political and social change which encompass the Theatre’s latest productions Caroline, Or Change and Sweet Bird of Youth.
The panel included Professor Andrew Chandler, from the Department of History and Politics, whose research interests embrace the interrelationship between politics, religion, and diplomacy across the 20th century.
He was joined by Professor Ross Wilson who specialises in the history and memory of the First World War in Great Britain and the United States.
Guest speakers also included Chichester undergraduates Ben Finlay, who completed a BA (Hons) in History last month and is preparing for an MA in Cultural History at the institution, as well as Paris Salt, a first-year BA (Hons) Politics and Philosophy and Ethics student.
Also talking on stage was second-year Max Bettridge, who is studying Politics and Contemporary History at the University.
