Why I chose to Study Business at the University of Chichester
Why did you choose the University of Chichester?
I came to the open day and everyone was so friendly and welcoming, I fell in love with the campus and the surrounding area as it’s such a beautiful place to study and live and I felt so welcomed by everyone I met here.
Why did you choose to study Business?
I chose to study business because it was always a subject that interested me at school and college, I find it fascinating that there is so many aspects to business and was really interested in learning more about HR and Training specifically, as well as the subject as a whole.
How do you think you’ll use your degree after graduation?
A business degree is very versatile and therefore I feel like it will be very useful in whichever profession I find myself in. I would like to follow a career path in training and having the knowledge taught on this degree will be valuable in doing this.
What’s been your favourite module and why?
My favourite module has been Employee Development in Year 2, this is because I found very engaging and enjoyable as it is a subject area I am interested in and wanted to explore further. We learnt a little about psychology and training techniques and this really grabbed my attention.
What opportunities and/or achievements have you gained from studying this course?
I have received the opportunity to do a placement year at Rolls-Royce in Goodwood, working in the training department, thanks to help of the careers team and my lecturers who supported me with finding this opportunity and helped prepare me for the interviews.
What teaching methods do your lecturers use and what support is available?
Each lecturer has their own teaching methods, but as the classes are small, they adapt well to their students after they build relationships with them, which is very common in the Business School here. Every lecturer is very approachable and always has time for any questions, (even if they are silly!), and if they don’t have the answers they’re very good at pointing us in the right direction.
