Diplomacy – Tony Kay
What is the point in Diplomacy?
Diplomacy is becoming more difficult in a complex and increasingly polarised global
environment. British Diplomacy is often held in the highest regard, but can struggle to make strategic impact on the world’s biggest challenges. How can British Diplomacy better tackle these challenges, and how can you make a difference?
Tony Kay is a British diplomat of over 30 years. His career has seen Tony serve in
London, Hong Kong, Romania, Moldova, Oman, Canada and Israel. Most of his recent
career focussed on the Middle East and lately as Deputy Director for the Arabian Gulf in London. He is an expert in crisis management, a skill often deployed in the last 15 years. Tony is due to depart for Brazil in summer 2024, when he will be Deputy British Ambassador. Tony will discuss how to prepare for a diplomatic career, why diplomacy matters, and how British diplomacy can still make an impact on the global stage.
