The Centre of Special Education & Disability Studies at the University of Chichester will be hosting this FREE online event

Sanctuary schools: Fostering Inclusive Environments for All.

Creating a space to talk about supporting and educating refugee and migrant students within inclusive and welcoming schools. An essential conference for young people, parents and carers, school/college leaders, SENCOs and professionals working in education, health and social care who want to make a difference for those they work with

Keynote Speaker: Dr. Julie Wharton, Senior Lecturer, Programme Leader for National Award for SEN Coordination, University of Winchester

Julie’s keynote will discuss her work on Supporting and educating refugee and migrant students within inclusive and welcoming schools and the inclusion of children and young people seeking sanctuary in schools.

In addition to our keynote, delegates will be invited to sign up for our conversation workshops to engage in discussions of areas around working to reduce school exclusions in CYP with SEND. A unique space to talk to colleagues about real issues in the context of your settings.
