Sugar – The Musical
The celebrated University of Chichester TRIPLE THREAT COMPANY are back in Worthing with two of their hottest shows ever!
First up is SUGAR (some of you will know it as SOME LIKE IT HOT) which is not only one of the best loved Billy Wilder comedy narratives of all time, but this 1972 original musical has one of the last Golden Age of Broadway scores with gorgeous jazz overtones. Many of you will know the narrative and if you don’t, you’re in for a treat as our two unemployed Chicago musicians Jerry and Joe, witnesses to a gangster shooting spontaneously dress as women and join an all-female band about to leave town for an engagement in Miami to escape. The classic complications as Joe/ Josephine, falls in love with band singer Sugar Kane who wants to marry a millionaire, prompting Joe to double-disguise himself/herself as the man of her dreams results in total chaos. Then the gangsters arrive and realise who Josephine and Daphne really are! Oops! Triple Threat Company’s production values under a stellar professional creative team and live band are exceptional and legendary and you will be watching the next generation of West End professionals, with previous cast members currently in Les Miserables and Sunset Boulevard.
