TOP-SELLING law author Kate Morgan is speaking about her stellar literary and legal career at the University of Chichester this week – with free virtual tickets still available.

The renowned writer will be talking about her popular new book, Murder: the biography, at the online event on Friday 28 May. The paperback, which currently sits in the top-ten of Amazon’s true-crime chart, details history’s darkest cases which have changed UK law.

Tickets for the online talk, which starts at 12pm on Microsoft Teams, are free for all but should be booked in advanced at www.uocanaudiencewithkatemorgan.eventbrite.co.uk.

Writer Kate Morgan is herself a former lawyer who spent ten years working in the profession before turning her hand to writing. Her new book voices some of the stories behind history’s most infamous cases that gave the UK the law of murder and manslaughter – including Ruth Ellis, the last woman hanged in England.

The event on Friday 28 May is led by the University of Chichester’s Law department, which regularly hosts guest speakers to talk to students about building a career in the highly sort-after profession.

Senior lecturer Dr Amy Elkington, who oversees the Law degrees at the University, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Kate to Chichester to speak about her long legal and new writing careers. Her new book has been a critical success, already achieving five-star reviews among critics, and she will be talking about the stories which inspired its release alongside her own law career path.”

The University’s three-year Law degrees include the LLB (Hons) Law and the LLB (Hons) Law with Criminology courses. It covers seven core areas which prepare students for a career at the Bar and the Solicitors’ Qualifying Examination, including Public, Criminal, Tort, Contract, Land, and EU law, alongside Equity and Trusts.
