About

Daniel is the Programme Leader for BSc (Hons) Football Coaching and Performance a position which he has held since 2014. Daniel originally started as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Chichester in August 2011 having worked previously as an Associate Lecturer at both Southampton Solent University and the University of Chichester since 2010.

Daniel brings extensive knowledge of football coaching & development, sport development and community sport coaching to the university through his industry experience; he is also involved in a host of sport development projects and coaching initiatives. Daniel is also a keen sport volunteer having volunteered in sport throughout the UK and overseas. Daniel is the co-lead for Nations United, an on-campus football initiative to support young unaccompanied asylum seekers and refugees.

Daniel is also the first team coach at Chichester City FC.  He also played football in the Nationwide Football Conference for three seasons and holds a range of coaching qualifications and is an affiliate FA Tutor.

Daniel’s main research interests include: coach development in football; sociological issues in sport; football studies; sport for social change and sport and religion.
