Laure Jackson

About

Laure is a Senior Lecturer in Physical Education, Dance and Education. She coordinates the School Direct Secondary Programme. She teaches dance on the PGCE Secondary route, PGCE Primary and undergraduate PE and Primary degrees.

Experience

Prior to joining the University, Laure taught in partnership schools for 15 years with responsibilities for leading the subject of dance and working as a Head of Year.

Laure also taught abroad in an International school in France and teaching TEFL in Gothenburg, Sweden.

She has experience of working with both specialist and non -specialist teachers in Dance and has led Dance CPD courses throughout her career to non-specialist primary and secondary teachers.

Research

As a french speaker, Laure has a research interest in developing teaching languages through dance and developed a primary MFL project with a colleague.

Laure also has interests in Forest School and the impact on teacher pedagogy and most recently is developing her interest in the mental health of training and serving teachers.
