Reviewing
Reviewer for a number of peer reviewed journals including: Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine; Health Education Research; International Journal of Workplace Health Management; and Academic Medicine.
Research
My research interests cover promoting physical activity in the workplace; qualitative studies to explore physical activity behaviour; physical activity and well-being; and physical activity and diabetes. I have been involved in a number of projects within a workplace setting. Recently this has included studying social support for physical activity within a workplace setting, and exploring physical activity literacy within employees. I jointly edited the book ‘Physical Activity and Mental Health’ which was published by Human Kinetics in 2014. Recent work in this area involved exploring the effects on of running with a dog on mood. I have also published a number of book chapters on pedagogy of teaching and learning and research methods for pedagogical research.
