About

Andy graduated from The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in 1983.

His professional theatre work 1983-1998 include: Sid Sorokin – Pyjama Game, Amos Hart – Chicago, Simeon – Joseph & the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, Henry/Nails – Heroes, Nick – Dead Funny, Bill – An Evening With Gary Lineker, Billy – Stags & Hens, Sebastian/Feste – Twelfth Night, Tybalt – Romeo & Juliet, Iago – Othello, Harry Pepper – Fantastical Voyage.

In 1986 he began working for Talkback Productions, the media company founded by comedians Mel Smith and Griff Rhys Jones, writing, producing and voicing numerous adverts for both television and radio. In 1990 he co-founded his own radio production company – Hilair Productions.

He also wrote and performed in several corporate films for IBM, Coopers & Lybrand, British Rail, British Airways and from 1995 – 1998 Video Arts Training.

Andy also wrote and performed for television & radio: The Jockeys of Norfolk, Revolting Animals, Your Mother Wouldn’t Like it, Jellyneck, The Crusader Chronicles, A Noble Order, The Crouch Club, Twenty Thousand Leagues Beyond the World Beneath the Waves, Alas Smith & Jones, Love Starts Here, A Near Run Thing, The Hitch-Hikers’s Guide to the Galaxy & On the Blog. He is particularly proud of the fact that Episode 6 of series 2 of On the Blog was inexplicably banned by the BBC and has never been broadcast.

For the better part of the 21st Century Andy has worked very happily as a radio & Television Voice Artist providing characters and sales speak for, amongst other products, Captain Sarcastic, Sure anti-perspirant, and Wang Chai Ferry.

Andy has now written, produced and directed two short films for the AFF course, Feast or Famine (2018) and Chanctonbury (2021
