About
Gemma has over two decades of experience of senior management across the anti-violence sector, including a portfolio of a number of national organisations: Rape Crisis, Women’s Aid and Suzy Lamplugh Trust.
Gemma specialises in the areas of prevention and harm reduction of sexual violence, gender-based abuse and stalking, combining her Gestalt informed group work training with an embedded practice of social justice and trauma-informed ways of collaborative working.
Gemma completed her BA (Hons) Humanistic Counselling at the University of Chichester and is currently a full time PhD candidate at the University of Portsmouth having successfully secured a bursary to research the prevention of violence against women (VAWG) at UK based music festivals.
Gemma teaches on the Social Marketing course at the University of Portsmouth and has a small private practice, working predominantly with women and LGBTQ+ survivors of violence.
