James Granger

James joined the University of Chichester in September 2020 as Chief Operating Officer (COO), with overall responsibility for the strategic and commercial direction of the Finance, Legal Services, IT and Estates & Facilities Management professional services functions.

James has spent the last 17 years working in the student sector, including serving as an independent board member for another UK university. Prior to Chichester, James worked in Dubai as the global COO of a leading student housing provider, overseeing the operational management of purpose-built accommodation for c. 20,000 higher education students across the UK, Europe, the Far East and Australia.

James brings considerable general management and board level experience from private, public, and not-for-profit organisations within the accommodation, university, leisure and retail sectors and is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales.
