Kate Matthews

About

Kate is a Senior Lecturer in Primary Education. She has taught Professional studies, Global citizenship and Primary drama; geography and PSHE, across a range of ITT programmes including undergraduate, postgraduate, Teach Direct, and Foundation. She is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

EXPERIENCE:

Kate’s university work has built on 20 years of experience as a primary class teacher and senior leadership roles in schools in West Sussex and Hampshire. She also worked at the University of Chichester as an Associate Lecturer since 2009, alongside teaching in school.

NTERESTS:

Kate has a passion for primary drama and the use of drama pedagogies within the primary classroom. She has an interest in PSHE teaching and learning. She is a current member of National Drama and the PSHE association.

Kate has an interest in wellbeing and learning. Her MA focused on the impact of emotional regulation and learning. She has a Certificate in Counselling.
