About

Starting out in Brighton as an NQT, Kayleigh worked with 11—16 underachieving students to develop their progress in vocational and core Sciences’. Following this Kayleigh went on to teach Year 3 to develop skills in students coming into secondary through transition and develop the KS2 Science curriculum in an underachieving school. Working with the local authority, Kayleigh led workshops for Science practitioners starting out in their career.

For the last 5 years Kayleigh has been working at Midhurst Rother College, through various roles including Director of Science and Senior Lead Practitioner of Teaching and Learning across the college. As a Chemist, Kayleigh has worked with numerous trainees to develop their classroom practice and develop the skill of delivering a core subject. Kayleigh has led training workshops across the Southern groups of United Learning Schools, developing intervention within Science.

Kayleigh is also an examiner for 2 exam boards for Chemistry and specialises in Foundation Chemistry learning and student development.

INTERESTS

Kayleigh is currently undertaking her NPQSL qualification around the concept of student data being used effectively for teacher planning, to enable the highest value progress.

With a background in Archaeological Science’s, Kayleigh supports those entering the profession with a variety of Scientific backgrounds. Following an internship at British Museum during her degree, she believes creating opportunities for young people to aspire into various Sciences’ and providing them with the skills to try new things.
