About

Nic is an experienced teacher who has been teaching in West Sussex for the past 18 years. She is the coordinator for the Secondary PGCE Music course and is involved in the delivery of Professional Studies on this route.

Experience:

Prior to joining the university, Nic was a music teacher at a partnership school, where her role has included, over the past 15 years, Year Leader, Curriculum Leader and Head of Faculty.

Interest:

Nic undertook her PGDip at the University of Chichester focusing on the uptake of GCSE music and how a creative KS3 curriculum enabled progression within the subject. Nic’s research interests include delivery of a creative curriculum, engagement and progression within an inclusive environment and the role of the pastoral system within the educational establishment.
