Rebecca Webb
Primary English Coordinator
About
Rebecca is a senior lecturer in Primary Education and teaches on the English and Creativity modules on the BA PET and PGCE programmes. She is also part of the Chichester Academy Trust School Improvement Team and delivers English leadership support, training and CPD in a number of schools.
Experience
Prior to joining the University, Rebecca taught across the primary age range in Hampshire and West Sussex schools. She worked as an associate lecturer at the University alongside teaching in primary before making the move to Higher Education.
Rebecca completed her MA (Ed) in 2009 with a focus on children’s views of themselves as writers, the teaching of writing and the creation of multimodal texts.
She presented her MA research findings at the UKLA (United Kingdom Literacy Association) International Conference (2011), and later presented her ongoing research in to teachers’ personal philosophy and how this manifests itself in classroom practice at the same conference (2013).
Interest
Rebecca’s interests are in raising boys’ achievement in English; parental engagement in literacy; and exploring how teachers’ literacy histories affect their personal philosophy on the teaching of reading and writing.
