Stefan Burkey

Stefan joined the University in March 2025 as the Interim University Secretary, with responsibility for the conduct of the University’s statutory, charitable and other obligations in accordance with the University’s governing instruments and relative legislation.

Stefan has spent 25 years working in education and organisational governance.

In the past few years, Stefan led the governance teams at the Institution of Structural Engineers and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. Before this, Stefan was the Head of Governance and then CEO of the Transform Learning Multi-Academy Trust.

Stefan has extensive C-Suite and consultancy experience in government and third sector organisations with particular experience in organisational development, compliance and management.
