Carly Hickey

About

Carly has over 20 years of experience working in various roles within the Criminal Justice System and holds a BSc (Hons) in Criminology and Criminal Justice.

After qualifying as a Probation Officer in 2005, she worked within specialist teams responsible for the management of dangerous offenders.

Various roles have included facilitating group work to those who had experienced abuse and trauma linked to their offending behaviour within the female prison estate, alongside working with victims of crime in a community setting.

Carly completed her MSc in Crime Science, Investigation and Intelligence whilst working with a specialist organisation identifying and managing serial perpetrators of domestic abuse.

Alongside the role as a Lecturer in Law, she is part of a team supporting Trainee Probation Officers as part of the professional qualifying degree programme.

Professional

Carly is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Research

Research interests include identifying and managing risks of harm through offending behaviour and supporting victims of crime.
