Chris previously worked in schools and also has a background in working with young people with special educational needs and disabilities and those leaving care.

Ali Khan - STEM Inspiration Officer

Ali Khan graduated with a Biomedical Science degree in 2005. Shortly after this, he began working at GlaxoSmithKline in Worthing. He began his career in the laboratories carrying out analytical testing on pharmaceutical products.

He soon became involved in developing the work experience programme and planning and developing outreach events around the county on behalf of GlaxoSmithKline. Noticing Ali’s ability to engage with students, the Site Director appointed him Early Talent Lead for the site. Ali was responsible for mentoring the graduate students, industrial placement students and apprentices alongside advocating GSK Worthing at careers events and in local schools and delivering STEM outreach events.

This enabled Ali to focus his attention on STEM, an area he is particularly passionate about, and has now been appointed STEM Inspiration Officer at the University of Chichester. Ali is looking forward to promoting STEM and committed to inspiring future generations of STEM professionals alongside the University of Chichester.
