Lecturer Practitioner in Nursing
About
As a Lecturer Practitioner Louise works half of the week in a clinical role as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner and the other half of the week as a Lecturer at the school of Nursing and Allied Health. She is delighted to be here to support our future generation of nurses.
Louise qualified as a nurse at Newcastle-Upon-Tyne School of Nursing and Northumbria University. Her first employment as a registered nurse was in the Coronary Care Unit. She then undertook a psychology degree at the University of Worcester.
Louise’s vocation as a Nurse continued in a busy Accident and Emergency department and she also enjoyed time working as a Research Nurse. Louise has now worked within General Practice for over 20 years and is very enthusiastic about Primary Care Nursing and all the opportunities available for students to learn and future career developments.

Louise is a Registered Nurse and a recognised Non-Medical Prescriber with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. She also became a Fellow of the Advanced Higher Education on completion of her PGCert and thus is committed to professionalism in learning and teaching within the University.
