Mihaela Apetroaie-Cristea

About

Mihaela received a PhD degree in Computational Engineering Design from University of Southampton and a first-class degree in Aerospace Engineering from the same university. She won the prestigious EPSRC Doctoral Prize for her research results, which granted her funding for a research fellowship at University of Southampton.

She has published extensively in the areas of Internet of Things, Edge Computing, air quality, distributed sensor networks and modularity. She has authored papers in internationally recognised journals, such as ACM, MDPI and Nature Scientific Reports, and has presented her work at prestigious international conferences, such as UbiComp and IoT World Forum.

She has been involved in outreach projects, such as workshops at the EMF and Engineering and Science festivals and deployment of a low-cost air quality sensor network within Southampton. She is also a member of the MDPI Electronics editorial team.
