Chichester teams ups with Portsmouth News to celebrate sporting heroes

Portsmouth News' sports awards

THE University of Chichester has teamed-up with the Portsmouth News to celebrate the achievements of sporting heroes from the nearby area.

The newspaper’s annual Sports Awards, which are now in its 13th year, are dedicated to recognising the best talent from across Hampshire and West Sussex.

More than 100 people will attend the ceremony, which is being held in the Kings Theatre in Portsmouth on Thursday 12 February, for a chance to win one of 13 top prizes.

This year Chichester will be sponsoring the Young Sportswoman of the Year, highlighting a young woman who has made a real impression in her chosen sport throughout the last 12 months.

The award will be presented by Dr Jenny Page, a Senior Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Psychology from the University’s Sports Performance and Rehabilitation Unit (SPRU).

The unit offers expert services and consultancy to sportsmen and women within state-of-the-art facilities including biomechanics and physiology labs, temperature chambers, and indoor and outdoor sports facilities.
