Cinematologists podcast coming to Chichester

www.cinematologists.com

THE University of Chichester is collaborating with The Cinematologists podcast for the recording of a future episode.

Dr Adam Locks from the department of Creative and Digital Technologies will be introducing the film, Her (Spike Jonze, 2013), with Cinematologists co-founder and host Dario Llinares on Tuesday 13 November. The screening, which starts at 6:30pm, will be followed by a post-viewing discussion with the audience.

The Cinematologists was started in 2015 by Dr Llinares and Neil Fox to bring fans, filmmakers, critics, and academics together to watch, discuss, and engage with cinema of all forms, genres and eras. The podcast has developed a loyal following of fans including the Observer’s chief film critic, Mark Kermode.

Dr Adam Locks said: “This is very exciting for our department as The Cinematologists is one of the most engaging and critically attuned film-related podcasts currently out there, so it’s wonderful to have Dario come to the university. Our department is starting its own film based podcast next year so it’s useful to have this opportunity to see how other academics are utilising this area of social media.”

The recording will take place in the screening room, known as lecture theatre F11, at the University’s Bognor Regis campus, West Sussex, PO21 1HR. To book a place contact organiser Tracy May at t.may@chi.ac.uk.
